In a Different Key – Notes of Passion Between the Lines of Duty (A Musical Interlude by Two School Leaders… and Musicians at Heart)
On October 30th, at the 2025 ESHA Conference, take a pause to experience a moment of artistry and introspection. Federico Marchetti and Antonio Palcich—dedicated school leaders and passionate musicians—come together to present In a Different Key, a piano and flute performance that speaks to the deep connection between creativity and leadership.
The program features Eldin Burton’s evocative Sonatina for Flute and Piano (1948), a work rich with lyricism and nuance, perfectly echoing the subtle interplay between professional duty and personal expression. Let this interlude be a space to reflect, reconnect, and rediscover the music that often plays quietly beneath the surface of our daily lives.
Federico Marchetti
Federico Marchetti, born in 1983, has been a school principal since 2019. He directed the Eugenia Martinet Educational Institution in Aosta and, since September, has been working on the ANP national staff. He graduated in guitar in 2004 and then in flute in 2008. He has taught musical instrument at both the secondary school and the Lyceum of Music in Aosta. As a musician, he has played in several Italian orchestras and has been active as an arranger for various artists.
Antonio Palcich
Antonio Palcich combined his musical studies with university studies. He graduated with honors in organ, piano, and composition from the “S. Cecilia” Conservatory. He also holds a law degree from “La Sapienza” University, a Master’s degree in Leadership and management in education and a master in organization and management of educational institutions in multicultural contexts, from the University of Roma Tre. In 1988, at a very young age, he became the assistant conductor of the RAI Symphony Choir in Rome, and since 1991 has been teaching at the conservatories of Rome, Frosinone, Benevento, and Monopoli for 22 years. Alongside his teaching career, he has performed as a pianist, organist, and composer at prestigious musical institutions (RAI – Italian Broadcasting Network, Bologna Philharmonic Academy, Genoa Opera House, Roman Organ Academy, Arts Academy of Rome, Rome Symphony Orchestra and the Breccia Organ Friends Association). He won first prize at the 1st Ragusa International Organ Competition. His numerous performances include the performance of the complete organ works of W.A. Mozart for the Schiller Institute in Milan, the concert presenting the organ at the Cathedral of San Benedetto del Tronto, and the inauguration concert for the new organ at the Upper Temple in Colle Don Bosco. Since 2012, he has been a school principal, a role he currently holds. Since 2022 he has been part of ANP National President Staff. In 2024 he received the “E.I.P. Jean Piaget” award for school leaders.
